Why mistakes matter.
Let's keep being bold.
A Note from the CEO
Let’s talk about mistakes.
When I do 1:1 chess lessons, after we play our game, we review it together using chess notation. One of the first questions I get asked is, “What mistake did I make?” It’s funny—because more often than not, we hold onto our mistakes more tightly than our successes.
Chess teaches us so much about mistakes. A setback isn’t the end—it’s an invitation to rethink, rework, and refocus. Every misstep offers a moment to pause, assess, and make a stronger move next time. Without mistakes, there’s no growth. No learning. No strategy.
The chessboard is a canvas for creativity, where every move holds potential. Even the wrong ones teach us something. It’s not about playing perfectly; it’s about adapting, strategizing, and growing with each turn.
Here’s the thing: mistakes shape who we are. They push us to become more resilient, more thoughtful, and more strategic. In chess—and in life—it’s not about avoiding mistakes. It’s about what you do after them that truly counts.
Because without mistakes, there’s no forward movement. No breakthroughs. No comebacks.
So next time you stumble, don’t see it as failure. See it as a necessary part of your story. Ask yourself: What’s my next move? Because that’s where the real game begins.
Let’s make bold moves.
